In addition, LMIR has access to world-class facilities at the University of Toronto and its affiliated hospitals. At the University of Toronto atomic absorption spectrometry, mass spectrometry, NMR and electron microscopy are available. At the University Health Network (link) access is provided to flow cytometry, confocal fluorescence microscopy, cell irradiator, and molecular pathology service as well as numerous other capabilities. At the Hospital for Sick Children, LMIR has access to a custom peptide synthesis service (link) as well as hematology/clinical biochemistry laboratory that can analyse small volume samples (link).
The STTARR Innovation Center Core II (link) provides state-of-the-art equipment for small animal imaging including a Siemens Focus microPET, Siemens microCT, Bioscan NanoSPECT/CT systems. A 7 Tesla MRI, ultrasound, fluorescence and bioluminescence imaging systems are also available at STTARR.
